Books I Read in 2016

Lifestyle By December 10, 2016 Tags: , , , , , , , , , , No Comments

That title is laughable, you know why? I only read two books this year. TWO.

Yes my head is bowed in shame because that is a stark contrast to my attitude in last year’s post where I discussed books I read in 2015.

So what happened you ask? I cannot explain for the life of me. Between moving houses (AGAIN) and overall trying to do this adulting thing, I only managed to read two books. Two doesn’t sound THAT BAD, I mean it’s two more than none. In the same vein, it is half the books I read last year…but let’s look forward.

On to the books I read.

5 Things I Love About Christmas

Lifestyle By December 2, 2016 Tags: , No Comments

1. Everyone is Happy (relatively)
There’s something about Christmas time that turns even the worst of cynics into merry people. The magic doesn’t catch them all but it definitely infects a lot of people. The types of people that usually don’t socialise now have an “excuse” to, people who usually don’t fancy a chat now have the “what are you doing for Christmas?” go-to line. I love it! There’s cheer in the air at Christmas time and it’s massively exciting

To Do in London: Whistle Punks Axe Throwing

Lifestyle By November 5, 2016 Tags: , , , , No Comments

Axe Throwing ….yes you read that right, Axe Throwing.

It is incredible the things we do for fun in 2016. I went axe throwing last week as part of a work social event and it was surprisingly a lot of fun.

I burst out laughing when it was suggested, “you can’t be serious” was my exact sentiment. How much fun can it be to throw an axe at a board of concentric circles? A LOT I came to realise!

4 Money Keys I Wish I Knew at 18

Tips & Tricks By June 5, 2016 Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , 3 Comments

Major key alert people! I have been reminiscing a lot about my university days and one of the areas where my mind keeps going to is money. Being a full grown “Adult” for a few years now has made me think back to some money keys I wish I knew at 18.

I grew up somewhat educated about money and the value of it (big up Mummy and Daddy Reet)! But as is often said “Experience is the best teacher” and there is no better education in personal finance than earning money for yourself and being in the driving seat fully without bank of Mom and Dad.

Here are some things I think every 18 year old should know about money.

Beauty Favourites | April ’16

April Faves

So this isn’t my first dance with a beauty blog post, but it is the first one I have really spent time creating. First of all I wanted to scream from the rooftop about these products because I really really really (you get the gist) like them. Second, I wanted the pictures to be mine, taken by ME. I was sweating guys (I was that stressed out), but I absolutely loved it. I felt like such a creative with the camera round my neck crouching and moving about to get the “perfect light”. I’m beginning to really enjoy this blogging life *swings head from side to side*.

On to the reason for the post, these products I’m absolutely loving right now and have used and abused them for the past few months. Here are my beauty favourites right now.

For The Love of TV Shows

Lifestyle By April 9, 2016 Tags: , , , , No Comments

Jane the Virgin

I’m a huge couch potato (that didn’t come out right). I love love love TV shows, it makes me sound boring when people ask the dreaded “What do you do for fun?”. I can just see the judgement when I say my hobbies are TV shows šŸ™ . But the truth is, apart from the fictional and often dramatic entertainment they provide, TV shows have a way of portraying some real-life truths that make you really think. The good ones at least.

I go hard for my TV shows. I like them in all flavours; Action, Thriller, Cheesy Romantic (not so much), fantasy, you name it. At some point in my life, I determined whether or not I would get along with someone I just met based on the TV shows they watch/like. Don’t judge me okay!

On to the list, I tried hard to whittle this down and of course, they are categorised, for what is life without order šŸ™‚

5 Things I love about spring

Lifestyle By April 3, 2016 Tags: , , , , , 3 Comments

Amsterdam in the spring

It has been spring for about 2 weeks already here in the UK, and I have confirmed with myself that there is a certain feeling that comes upon me once it’s spring. I’m not sure if it’s the change in temperature or the longer days, but my moods are certainly lifted in the springtime. Being myself, I decided to list my favourite things about this season.

Spring?

Spring Flowers in Rain
Hello beautiful people
I come alive in the springtime *Drake voice*

Look at me coming on here to make jokes, when I really should have my tail between my legs. After my self motivating, high energy start to the year, I feel like my #Goals and grand ambitions for this blog left me a bit weak in the knees. You know the scenario when you’re talking smack to someone and they say the dreaded “Let’s take this outside”, the HOT BLOOD that gushes through your body (I talk like i’ve been in that situation before, I’m too chicken to fight guys!).
