North America, Travel By September 10, 2017 Tags: , , , , , No Comments

The truth is there are probably thousands of things to do in the great city of New Orleans and in Louisiana as a whole, however I only got to a hand-full in one week. I need to go back, but that’s besides the point. I will share with you a few of the things we got up to in New Orleans. To read my initial post on New Orleans and first impressions, click here.

Down in New Orleans

North America, Travel By August 10, 2017 Tags: , , , , , 1 Comment

In June, I had an unmissable opportunity to travel to New Orleans, Louisiana (aka NOLA) for just over a week, an opportunity I absolutely could not pass up.

It was sooo worth it. New Orleans is one of those places I had dreamed about because of how much culture it is portrayed to have, it’s role in America’s history, particularly African American History and ofcourse the FOOD. It definitely lived up to expectations in that regard, I put on 5 kilos *weeps*

I love pancakes. I have been making pancakes for as long as I remember, I just cannot get enough. However, with my recent desire to live a more healthy lifestyle, I am increasingly trying to find ways to continue enjoying my staples but in a healthy way. Enter Oatmeal Pancakes. I love this recipe a lot because it allows me to indulge without the bloating and first class guilt that comes with chowing down a stack of pancakes.

I will continue to experiment and share my recipes as I explore. Please leave your comments below if you do try the recipe and let me know what else you want to see.

Hello Lovelies,

The weather in London has been ridiculously gloomy. Rain, wind and more rain is the order of the day. Naturally when it came to suggesting a place to eat for a catchup with some work friends, I picked the closest place to work. I was overruled by a friend of mine who was certain we would like this vietnamese place in Hoxton, about 20 mins away from work. I’ll be honest, I wasn’t feeling it. The last thing I wanted to do was tread in the dreadful weather for some average food. I was dead wrong!

Books I Read in 2016

Lifestyle By December 10, 2016 Tags: , , , , , , , , , , No Comments

That title is laughable, you know why? I only read two books this year. TWO.

Yes my head is bowed in shame because that is a stark contrast to my attitude in last year’s post where I discussed books I read in 2015.

So what happened you ask? I cannot explain for the life of me. Between moving houses (AGAIN) and overall trying to do this adulting thing, I only managed to read two books. Two doesn’t sound THAT BAD, I mean it’s two more than none. In the same vein, it is half the books I read last year…but let’s look forward.

On to the books I read.

5 Things I Love About Christmas

Lifestyle By December 2, 2016 Tags: , No Comments

1. Everyone is Happy (relatively)
There’s something about Christmas time that turns even the worst of cynics into merry people. The magic doesn’t catch them all but it definitely infects a lot of people. The types of people that usually don’t socialise now have an “excuse” to, people who usually don’t fancy a chat now have the “what are you doing for Christmas?” go-to line. I love it! There’s cheer in the air at Christmas time and it’s massively exciting

Drinks at Dirty Bones

Last Friday the girls and I made a cheeky stop at Dirty Bones for a dinner catch-up.

I was initially skeptical of a place called “Dirty Bones”. I’m not a huge fan of Shoreditch for a number of reasons, so when it was suggested I was a little hesitant. Upon visiting the Dirty Bones website my mind was changed instantly. Say what you want but a good website is half the sell for a restaurant. The menu looked packed full of delicious meals at sensible prices and best of all, HAPPY HOUR! Sign me up!

To Do in London: Whistle Punks Axe Throwing

Lifestyle By November 5, 2016 Tags: , , , , No Comments

Axe Throwing ….yes you read that right, Axe Throwing.

It is incredible the things we do for fun in 2016. I went axe throwing last week as part of a work social event and it was surprisingly a lot of fun.

I burst out laughing when it was suggested, “you can’t be serious” was my exact sentiment. How much fun can it be to throw an axe at a board of concentric circles? A LOT I came to realise!
