Ladies (and Gents too),

Clear skin makes a significant difference in how we look at and feel about ourselves, it’s no wonder that there are empires built off products and procedures designed to correct, conceal and do all sorts to our skin. But what if we just took simple steps everyday to take care of that which was purposefully created to protect us?

In this post, I will be sharing with you 5 tips on how to take care of your skin. (Product recommendations at the end)

DISCLAIMER: I am in no way claiming to have perfect skin, but it has spoken to me over the years and I have taken notes.

Never ever ever ever go to bed with make up on, just don’t do it. No matter how tired, drunk, whatever you are. Baby wipes or makeup remover before bed every time.

Get yourself a good moisturiser. People have different types of skin (Dry, Oily, Medium are the generic types). Unless you’re like me and have an oily t-zone and dry CRUSTY  jaw/mouth area. Whatever the case, invest in a good lotion and use after showering.

Drink loads of water. Now this one I never bought because I always thought, meh..what does water have to do with my skin. Believe me it has absolutely everything to do with it. Your skin is a window into your diet. If you’re eating well and staying hydrated, your skin will tell you by glistening like the stars above, otherwise it would be trying to warn you to FIX UP!

The skin regenerates every so often and getting rid of the dead skin can only do you good. A good exfoliator won’t cost you much and the rewards are incredible. Once a month is usually enough for a body exfoliation. A note of warning, exfoliators can be harsh for the face so be careful which ones you buy for your face, particularly if you have sensitive skin!

I know you’re thinking EXCUSE ME?. Yes, listen. Listen to your body and your skin. It’s right there trying to tell us things all the time, if only we would stop and listen. Everyone is inherently different therefore we cannot all do the same things and get the same results. Try to eat healthy *Lowers doughnut from mouth*.

Looking good doesn’t come easy. Let your skin speak to you, Listen and you will be best of friends.

I hope this helps. If you have any questions please leave a comment below or share your skin care tips.
